Joy of Hearing is the initiative of a non-profit company, The Hearing Ear NPC (2009/024817/08), registered as a public benefit organisation in terms of the Income Tax Act of South Africa and managed by a board of directors, who are duly assisted by an advisory board, which includes medical experts in the field of hearing impairment and cochlear implants.

Mr Loftie Fourie

Mr Loftie Fourie is an experienced chartered accountant in Port Elizabeth, with a Masters degree in tax. He is a partner with Landman Van Rensburg Accountants since 2004.

Dr Jeff Govender

Dr Govindsamy (Jeff) Govender is a general practitioner in private practice and the owner and manager of Famhealth Medipark in Gelvandale, Port Elizabeth. He is also the CEO of Ecipa Healthcare and a member of the Nelson Mandela University Council. Dr Govender serves on a number of boards and was honoured as the Herald-GM Citizen of the Year 2011 in the category of Sustainable Development.

Dr Eben Nel

Dr Eben Nel has a doctorate in trust law and financial instruments, practice as a fiduciary specialist with PSG Trust in Port Elizabeth and is a board member of the Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa (FISA). Dr Nel is a research associate with the Department of Mercantile Law at the Nelson Mandela University.

Ms Nolufefe Grace Nduneni

Ms Nduneni holds qualifications in Business Management and Internal Auditing, and is currently a deputy director in the Eastern Cape Department of Social Development. She has previously served in non-profit organisations and has a particular passion for persons with hearing loss.

Dr Iain Butler is an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon. He has undergone additional training in middle ear and lateral skull base surgery, as well as in the field of middle ear and cochlear implants.
